The BBC News reported that according to reports in The Observer, The Sunday Times and The Telegraph, U.K.-headquartered drug giant GlaxoSmithKline is set to cut more than 6,000 jobs. It is suggested that the reason for the cuts is "increasing competition from generic drug makers." According to the BBC, a GlaxoSmithKline spokesperson would only confirm that the company "was in the middle of a restructuring program."
