A Decade Later, HRT Deemed Okay for Some Menopausal Women
Prescriptions for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) plummeted 10 years ago after a Women’s Health Initiative report said the benefits of the treatment weren’t worth the risks. Now, with a decade of new research on the issue, a consortium of women’s health groups issued a position paper saying that HRT can be appropriate for younger women at the beginning of menopause.
