Telemedicine Improving Quality of Life for Diabetes Patients 
There is no debate over the need maximize treatment adherence to ensure effective diabetes management. Adherence, however, not only includes taking medications properly and following an appropriate diet, but also following up with providers for office visits to assess the success of both pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions. AI Instills Hope for Diabetic
Vision Loss 

Diabetic macular edema is a known cause of vision loss in patients with diabetic retinopathy. Despite the current treatment options, some patients do not respond to therapy and are left with inadequately treated illness and, possibly, the prospect of total blindness. Research published in the Optical Society journal Biomedical Optics Express describes a new method of employing artificial intelligence (AI) to evaluate retinal images that can algorithmically guide optimal treatment strategies.
