Tdap Among Vaccinations Linked to Decreased Dementia Risk
Adults who have had the tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) vaccine have a substantially lower risk of dementia than those who have not. Find out why researchers believe that might be related more to infections and their effect on inflammation than to the vaccines themselves. They emphasize, however, that the 42% decrease in risk is "more pronounced than any treatment we have available for Alzheimer's disease."
