Stroke Survivors at Higher Risk of Herpes Zoster Infection
Because of a much higher risk of developing herpes zoster (HZ), stroke survivors should be recommended to receive the HZ vaccine. That’s according to a new study finding extremely high HZ risk in patients recovering from stroke within the last year. Those concerns apply to both hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke.
