Do Beta-Blockers Have a Role in Early Breast Cancer?
Preliminary evidence from retrospective studies indicates a possible favorable role of beta-blockers in improving the prognosis of patients. The mechanisms behind a possible beneficial effect are speculative and may include inhibition of angiogenesis, stimulation of T-cell recruitment, increases in the production of proinflammatory cytokines, and induction of immune activation. Effect of Acupuncture on Aromatase Inhibitor-Induced Arthralgia in Breast Cancer
Aromatase inhibitors are standard treatments for reducing breast cancer recurrence in postmenopausal women and hormone receptor–positive patients. However, their use is associated with treatment-limiting arthralgias. Nonpharmacologic modalities that can relieve this pain without exposing patients to the side effects of drug therapy would be ideal. Read more.
