Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. received final FDA approval for its ANDA for tamsulosin hydrochloride capsules USP, 0.4 mg, the generic version of Boehringer Ingelheim’s benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) treatment, Flomax. In related news, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. announced the approval and commercial launch of its generic version of Flomax Capsules, 0.4 mg. The brand version had annual sales of approximately $2 billion in the United States, based on IMS sales data.
