The BugHub is a central space where meeting attendees can gather and listen to interesting stories and experiences from their colleagues, network, and take advantage of different IDWeek 2023 and partner society opportunities. The BugHub stage will feature presentations that touch on the great experience of working in infectious diseases and that ultimately lead to greater understanding and treatment of patients as well as stories that go beyond science and medical care.

Among the presentations taking place at the BugHub Stage during IDWeek is “The Patient on the Other Side of the Antibiotic RX.” This presentation, which takes place 12:50 p.m. – 1:10 p.m. ET, will be given by Jessica Zering, PharmD, BCIDP, BCPS, CAPM, antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist, Washington State Department of Health.

Dr. Zering is dual board–certified in infectious diseases and pharmacotherapy. She has worked in pharmacy in different roles and settings for over a decade. Prior to her current position, Dr. Zering worked as a pharmacist at a critical-access hospital. The stewardship program that she created during her time there was featured on a CDC/HRSA webinar titled “Enhancing Antibiotic Stewardship Programs in Critical Access Hospitals” in November 2021 and in the February 2022 edition of the Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Project publication.

The BugHub can be found in the North Lobby of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, and the full BugHub Stage schedule can be found here.
