At the 2019 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning this weekend, experts from across the country and around the world will speak on issues relevant to contemporary pharmacy practice.

Attended by more than 25,000 pharmacy professionals from all over the globe, the Midyear Clinical Meeting, the largest and longest-running clinical meeting in the world, provides valuable opportunities for professional development, networking, enhancing practice skills, and staying current with the latest products and innovations.

Key industry exhibitors await attendees at the largest pharmacy exhibit program featuring the latest product developments and technological advancements. Pharmacists have the opportunity to compare products, see demonstrations and promotional theaters, and have questions answered from the most innovative domestic and international companies.

Meeting attendees can also choose from more than 230+ hours of interactive educational opportunities presented by more than 440 speakers that are developed to maintain and enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of pharmacists and associated personnel.

In a new feature at this year’s Midyear Meeting, a full day of activities on Sunday, December 8, will focus on issues that contribute to professional burnout. During the ASHP Well-Being Collaborative, interprofessional panel participants from the National Academy of Medicine’s Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience will join ASHP members to foster shared solutions and participate in activities. The inaugural collaborative will include a review of the causes of burnout and consequences for patient-care providers and patients; explore components of training, composition, and function of interprofessional teams to maximize care; identify evidence-based systems interventions for patient-care providers to mitigate risk; and share recommendations with ASHP to improve patient care by supporting the well-being of the workforce.

Also new this year is an Afternoon of Innovation in Science on Tuesday, December 10. This program will help meeting attendees consider how science may impact pharmacy in the near future and determine ways that they might incorporate exciting innovations into their practice. Sessions include Autonomous Delivery: Your Drone Has Arrived! and How Disruptive Innovation Is Changing the Healthcare and Pharmacy Ecosystem.
