Enhanced software from QS/1 is
designed to help pharmacies take advantage of the Drug Enforcement Agency's
newly created Controlled Substance Ordering System. Designed to eliminate
rekeying of data, the enhancements to the RxCare Plus, NRx, and PrimeCare
products create an interface between the pharmacy and wholesaler software.
The South Carolina–based
company also announced that its interactive voice response system (IVR) allows
patients of pharmacies with one or more location to call one telephone number
to order prescription refills. The refills can be ordered at any time of day
and are automatically routed to the patient's selected location. Only one IVR
server is necessary to handle telephone calls at all locations, QS/1 reports.
